भूपेन हजारिका देश का सबसे बड़ा पुल चीन को चुनौती है, असम-अरुणाचल की दूरी ४ घंटे कम हुई। नरेंद्र मोदी ने शुक्रवार को असम के तिनसुकिया जिले में बने सबसे लंबे पुल का इनॉगरेशन किया। जिसका पिछले पचास सालों से इंतजार था। इनॉगरेशन के वक्त असम के गवर्नर बनवारी लाल पुरोहित, सीएम सर्बानंद सोनोवाल और ट्रांसपोर्ट मिनिस्टर नितिन गडकरी मौजूद थे। मोदी ने कहा, “पुल ने ५ दशक का इंतजार खत्म किया। इस ब्रिज को भूपेन हजारिका पुल के नाम से जाना जाएगा।” भूपेन हजारिका एक मशहूर गायक थे। ये उन्हें हमारी श्रद्धांजलि है। वो ब्रह्मपुत्र के सपूत थे, वो इसी के लिए जिए थे।
यह पुल असम को अरुणाचल प्रदेश से जोड़ेगा। इस पुल से दोनों राज्यों के बीच लगभग १६५ किलोमीटर की दूरी कम हो जाएगी। यानी असम से अरुणाचल प्रदेश जाने में ४ घंटे कम लगेंगे। सादिया के अदरक व्यापारियों को इससे सबसे ज्यादा फायदा होगा। पुल के बन जाने से प्रतिदिन १० लाख रुपये का ईंधन बचेगा। सरकार ने २६ मई से लेकर १५ जून तक देशभर के ९०० शहरों में “मोदीफेस्ट” मनाने का फैसला किया है। इस फेस्ट की शुरुआत गुवाहाटी में करेंगे।
ब्रह्मपुत्र की सहायक नदी लोहित पर बना ९.१५ किमी लंबा यह पुल एशिया का दूसरा सबसे लंबा पुल है। यह असम में तिनसुकिया जिले के ढोला और सदिया को जोड़ता है। इससे दोनों राज्यों में आवाजाही के वक्त में ४ घंटे की कमी आएगी।

- इस पुल का निर्माण २०११ से शुरू हुआ था। इसे पब्लिक-प्राइवेट पार्टनरशिप में बनाया गया है।
- इस पुल से असम-अरुणाचल में टूरिज्म को बढ़ावा मिलेगा और स्थानीय स्तर पर रोजगार के मौके मिलेंगे।
- पुल पर से लगभग ६० टन के लड़ाकू टैंक उतारे जा सकते हैं। चीन बॉर्डर पर फोर्सेस को पहुंचने में आसानी होगी।
सादिया की लगभग एक लाख बीस हजार आबादी तथा अरुणाचल प्रदेश के करीब एक लाख लोगों को इससे सबसे अधिक फायदा होगा। अभी परसुराम कुंड ब्रिज से धोला गांव से सादिया इस्लामपुर तिनिआली के बीच करीब ८ घंटे लगते हैं। ब्रह्मपुत्र नदी में जल परिवहन के साधनों से इन दोनों के बीच करीब साढ़े चार घंटे का समय लगता है, लेकिन अब पुल के बन जाने से दोनों के बीच में आधे घंटे कम वक्त लगेगा।
१८ मई २०१६ को असम असेंबली के रिजल्ट आए थे। बीजेपी ने पहली राज्य में जीत दर्ज की थी। यहां १५ साल से राज कर रही कांग्रेस सरकार को बाहर कर दिया था।
