शनिवार को नीति आयोग के सीईओ अमिताभ कांत ने बताया कि डेबिट और क्रेडिट कार्ड और एटीएम अगले तीन-चार में किसी काम के नहीं रहेंगे क्योंकि लोग अपने मोबाइल फोन से ही कैशलेस लेन-देन करेंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत ऐसा देश है, जहां ७२ फीसदी आबादी ३२ साल से कम की है।
अमेरिका और यूरोप की तुलना में इसलिए भारत आगे रहेगा क्योंकि वहां की आबादी २०४० तक बूढ़ी होने लगेगी। अमिताभ एमिटी यूनिवर्सिटी नोएडा के कैंपस में सम्मान के तौर पर डॉक्टरेट की डिग्री ग्रहण करने पहुंचे थे। कांत ने कहा कि भारत दुनिया का एक मात्र देश है, जहां एक अरब बायोमेट्रिक, मोबाइल फोन और बैंक अकाउंट हैं।
इसलिए भविष्य में ख़ास बदलाव करने वाला एकमात्र देश होगा। ज्यादातर लेन-देन मोबाइल पर होगा और यह चलन तेजी से बढ़ रहा है। वहीं अभी देश की अर्थव्यवस्था ७.५ फीसदी की रफ्तार से बढ़ रही है। लेकिन हमारी चुनौती इसे ९-१० प्रतिशत तक ले जाना है। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत इस वक्त बदलाव के दौर से गुजर रहा है। ऐसा इतिहास में पहले नहीं हुआ था।
