नीरव मोदी ने पंजाब नेशनल बैंक में केवल ११४ अरब ही नहीं बल्कि १२६२२ अरब रुपये का घोटाला किया है। पीएनबी की ओर से सोमवार देर रात स्टॉक एक्सचेंज को डायमंड कारोबारी नीरव मोदी की ओर से २०४ मिलियन डॉलर यानी १३२२ करोड़ रुपये के एक और फ्रॉड के बारे में जानकारी दी गई।
पत्र लिखकर दिया था बैंक ने जवाब
पंजाब नेशनल बैंक ने आरोपी नीरव मोदी से लोन की रकम चुकाने के लिए वास्तविक प्लान पूछा है। नीरव मोदी द्वारा पहले लिखे गए पत्र का जवाब देते हुए बैंक ने कहा कि उसकी तरफ से कभी भी लेटर ऑफ अंडरटेकिंग जारी नहीं किए गए हैं।
यह काम एक फर्जी तरीके से हुआ
पंजाब नेशनल बैंक ने जवाब में लिखा कि एलओयू जारी करने में बैंक का कोई रोल नहीं है। यह कुछ भ्रष्ट कर्मचारियों ने गैरकानूनी तरीके से जारी किये थे। नीरव और उसकी तीन सहयोगी कंपनियों को बैंक की तरफ इस तरह की कोई सुविधा नहीं मिली थी। जब बैंक को इस घोटाले की जानकारी हुई कि लोन देने में फेमा कानून का उल्लंघन और मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग हुई है तो फिर उसने समस्त एजेंसियों को इसकी जानकारी दी।
नीरव मोदी ने इससे पहले बैंक को पत्र लिखकर कहा था कि घोटाले को उजागर करके बैंक ने उसकी इमेज खराब कर दी है। ऐसी हालत में लोन का पैसा वापस नहीं कर सकेगा। १५/१६ फरवरी को लिखी अपनी चिट्ठी के बाद नीरव ने फिर एक ऐसी बात कह दी है जिससे मामला और उलझ गया है।
११४०० करोड़ रुपये के देश के सबसे बड़े बैंकिंग घोटाले को अंजाम देने वाला अरबपति ज्वेलरी डिजाइनर नीरव अब सीना जोरी पर उतर आया है। नीरव का पंजाब नेशनल बैंक प्रबंधन को १५/१६ फरवरी को लिखा खत सामने आया है, जिसमें उसने कहा कि अति उत्साह में इस मामले को सार्वजनिक कर पीएनबी ने बकाया वसूली को चुकाने की उसकी क्षमताओं के सारे रास्ते बंद कर दिए हैं।
इस फ्रॉड का १७ बैंकों पर पड़ा है असर
इस महाघोटाले से देश की सभी बैंकों को कुल मिला कर १७६ अरब रुपये से ज्यादा के नुकसान की आशंका है। इनकम टैक्स डिपार्टमेंट ने कहा है कि उसने महाघोटाले के खुलासे के बाद से अब तक नीरव मोदी, मेहुल चोकसी के १०५ से अधिक बैंक खाते और २९ प्रॉपर्टी को सील कर दिया है।
नीरव मोदी को इन बैंकों ने दिया था लोन
नीरव मोदी की कंपनी और फायरस्टार इंटरनेशनल लिमिटेड को जिन बैंकों ने लोन दिया उसमें पीएनबी के अलावा सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया (१९४ करोड़), देना बैंक (१५३.२५ करोड़), विजया बैंक (१५०.१५ करोड़), बैंक ऑफ इंडिया (१२७ करोड़), सिंडिकेट बैंक (१२५ करोड़), ओरियंटल बैंक ऑफ कॉमर्स (१२० करोड़), यूनियन बैंक ऑफ इंडिया (११० करोड़) व इलाहाबाद बैंक, आईडीबीआई बैंक १०० करोड़ शामिल है।
१९८० करोड़ का लोन जून २०१५ तक दिया गया
इन बैंकों ने एक कंशोर्शियम और व्यक्तिगत तौर पर नीरव की कंपनी फायरस्टार इंटरनेशनल को जून २०१५ तक करीब १९८० करोड़ रुपये का लोन दिया था। इसके अलावा बैंकों ने ५०० करोड़ रुपये का अतिरिक्त लोन दिया था। इसमें से केवल ९० करोड़ रुपये कंपनी ने बैंक को चुका दिया है।
